Hi, my name is Pegi Tillman. As a proofreader, I make sure your work doesn't have typos, misspellings, punctuation errors, or double words. When doing general proofreading, I also fix grammatical errors and formatting issues. When proofing for court reporters, readability is key, as well as maintaining the integrity of verbatim speech. I'm the last set of eyes to review your document after the editing is done.
I'm a book-loving grammar nerd. Even before I was an official proofreader, I was noticing typos and mistakes in books and newspapers and autocorrecting them in my mind. I've often been the go-to person among coworkers and friends to proofread their emails and resumes. We often overlook our own mistakes when reporting or writing because our brains correct what our eyes see, which is why a second set of eyes is so important.
